I was asked to write a quick comment regarding my experiences since joining the London Claims Association. Well, to be truthful I would describe the last five years as scary, challenging, rewarding and in the end one of the best decisions I have made both professionally and personally.

Becoming part of the executive was scary at the beginning because it is unknown what will be expected of you. You question if you will be able to organize an event, and my oh my, how are you ever going to remember all those names of the people you meet at the functions.

Well I am really good at remembering faces; I am getting better at the names, but thank goodness for name- tags. I mastered organizing small and large events, because you quickly learn that your fellow executive members are there for support, guidance and whatever else you may need to pull off a fantastic event. I have had the pleasure of working with some incredible individuals over the last five years.

My involvement on the London Claims Executive has assisted in my career advancement because has enabled my confidence level to grow, to believe in my abilities and to take a chance. On a personal note, the friendships that I have made are gifts that I will always treasure.

So I encourage anyone who is thinking about joining the executive, take a chance, believe in yourself, because every member of this chapter will be standing behind you, encouraging you to succeed.
